Self Care Guide To Tide Through The Last 14 Days

Updated: May 23, 2020

14 more days.

Yes, we have 14 more days until the 1st of June. And I’m sure you know what that means – The circuit breaker period will finally be over! HURRAY

It has been a long 7 weeks and caring for your mental health while at home is extremely important. If you have yet indulged in some self-care during this period, these are a few of our top picks based on our experience.

STAY ACTIVE

Now there is no excuse to say “I don’t have time to exercise because I am busy”. With all the free time you have in the world now, you still have the chance to redeem the feast you had for the last few weeks.

You don’t necessarily have to be a fitness guru within the next 2 weeks. I know, it is a hard goal. But simply, get up and get active.

Exercising helps to put you in a good mood - something we all need during this time. it also helps to remove any form of restlessness and tension you are feeling.

Here is one of the fitness accounts we have been following and we love the tips they have given us! Especially, those exercises you can do on the bed 😉

BEAUTY UP

Just because you do not spend as much time out of your house now, it doesn’t mean you should not be keeping to your beauty routine.

Trust us, it is equally important to stick to your usual routine and ensure that you pamper yourself.

Continue to put that sunscreen because you will still be hit by sun rays in your room. Dress up for yourself. Indulge in a mask anytime you want to. Drink up for your body. Put on your deodorant if you work out frequently. Apply your nighttime skincare routine and even add another step since time is on your side!

EXPLORE THE WORLD BY READING

Whoever said that “here’s to books, the cheapest vacation you can buy” is a genius.

With all of us being trapped at home now and not being to travel anywhere, the best item to bring you around is books. So what are you waiting for?

Read that book that has been sitting on the shelf for the past few months. Read that book that you have been wanting to read for the longest time. If you don’t have the physical copy, no fear!

You can check out online options on the national library app. If you prefer the physical copy, like me, you can be a tree hugger and purchase secondhand books from

Not only do they sell second-hand books, but they also donate the sales to specific causes. And yes, all of them are still shipping books out during this period!

ENJOY THE DOWNTIME

I know, it can be awfully stressful during this period of time.

But take this time to enjoy life once again. Slow down. Practice mindfulness. Be grateful for everything around you.

Because, when else do we ever have the chance like this ever again? Where the whole world has been on a slow down period.

You have the last 2 weeks to make the most out of this downtime. So go ahead and do all those things that you always wanted to do.

Most importantly, stay home, stay safe, and stay united.
